SUVA, 25th August. The Rev. J. Macdonald denies the reported withdrawal of his resignation, which has ibeen supplied to the Press by the Rev. Mr Andrews, president of the Methodist Mission. The Rev. Mr Macdonald says that the president requested that he remain in office till the end of the ministerial year, in March, 1929, but he had replied'that "the withdrawal of my resignation could not possibly be considered by me until the report of the Commission is made known." '
. A cablegram from Suva on 18th July stated that the Rev. J. Macdonald, chairman of the Methodist Mission in Fiji,' had resigned provisionally owing to a difference of policy with the Australian headquarters, which, it was rumoured, might be amicably settled when the Methodist Commission went to Fiji from Sydney in August on general mission affairs.
