BASKETBALL

On: Saturday afternoon three basketball matches were played on the Convent grounds between the Nelson and Blenheim Convent girls, and resulted in two wins for Blenheim and one for Nolson. A handsome cup, presented by a few Nelson men interested in the sport, was won by the Blenheim girls in the Primary "A" contest. The Rev, Father Hoare made the presentation after afternoon tea, and, in doing so, said that Blenheim took the Cup home and Nelson had a very happy recollection of the girls' visit. Durinjr their stay in Nelson the girls were the guests of the Nolson Convent girls and other ladies of the congregation, to whom the Nelson sisters extend their sincere thanks- Forty-one girls of the visiting teams bad dinner at the Convent yesterday and left at one o'clock for Blenheim, the threatening condition of the weather hastening their departure.
