PLUNKET BALL
Arrangements are now well in hand for this -year's Plunket Ball to be held in the Velma Hall.on Wednesday, 22nd August. Special attention is being paid to the children's' party which will be from 3 to 6 p.m. and several novelties are to be introduced. Prizes will be given for the best historical"character or group, best literary character or group, best nursery rhyme character or group, most original costume worn by child under seven years, and most original costume worn by child over seven years. A splendid home made tea will be provided. . ■• The adults' ball will begin at 8 p.m. Dance music by Lee's orchestra and a home made supper should ensure the enjoyment of nil The prices are moderate and those attending in addition to an evening of pleasure will have the satis-fw-tion of knowing that they are assisting a worthy cause.
