MORE NURSES WANTED >■- ■"■■ REQUEST BY MR R. I'. HUDSON (By Telegraph) (From "The Mail's" Parliamentary Reporter). WELLINGTON, 3rd August. Discussing the Health Report in the House of Representatives to-day, Mr R. P. Hudson (Motueka) said the importance of the work carried out by the dental clinics was not fully recognised. Ho appealed to the Government to contribute more liberally at once for the provision of more dental nurses. Voices: "How many nurses have you?" (Laughter). Mr Hudson: "Two; but formerly I had onlv one." "We have none," chorused a number of members. "Give us a chance." (Laughter). Mr Hudson pointed to. the large tract of country covered by his electorate and said there were vast areas where no treatment could be got at all.. It was too'far to travel to the towns from some places The Government would do well to train another 40 or 50 nurses, and he hoped the money would be found.
