Deceased was engaged in driving a tunnel for drainage works-at Edendale. In returning the Tiirdict, Mr McKean said that-all thfr riual necessary precautions had been taken to make the tunnel safe for workers. All the limber "in the tunnel were sound,; • and it appeared- that the slip was due to • heavy . rains experienced . about the time of. the fatality.
