BOXING

HEENEY V. TUNNEY

United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright Australian Press Association.—United Service.

NEW YORK, 13th July. _ The sports writer, McAuliffe, who is also an undefeated lightweight champion, predicts victory for Tom Heeney. He says that Heene'y has more endurance than Tunney and will wear him down and win the decision at the end of fifteen rounds. "I don't think Heeney has a strong enough punch to knock Tunney out, but he is likely to maul the champion pretty badly in' the last five rounds," continues the writer. "The coming bout will tell more on Tunney than on a regular fellow like Heeney, who is used to going twenty rounds." "NEW YORK, 14th July. News from Fairhaven says that, comment is ascribed to Tunney to the effect that the allocation of seats for the champion's friends is faulty, and further that Heeney expects to have only three friends present, caused the New Zealandcr to dictate a caustic letter to the champion in which he declared: "It may interest you, I have already .arranged for more than 200 tickets for my friends, but they are not particular where they sit. All they want is a good view of me hooking you with lefts and sending your head back with uppercuts. I have always drawn good audiences, and earned the right for a try at your title, because I am always consistent." Heeney was pleased when informed that advance sales of tickets were now close on 500,000 dollars.
