LADIES’ CLUB FINAL KNOCK-OUT TOURNAMENT Yesterday afternoon the final of the ladies’ knock-out golf tournament was played between Miss Lucas and Mrs Green, resulting in a win for Miss Lucas (who concedede her opponent 4 strokes) by 3 and 2 after a closely contested game. Mrs Green was 2 up at the sth, but at the, Btli the game was squared. The 9th was halved, and Mrs Green won the next, making her 1 up. The 11th was halved, and at the next Miss Lucas again squared the game, and went on to win 3 and 2. Next Friday the fourth round of the L.G.U. medal, Encounter Shield, and ringer will be played. An invitation golf tournament for £SOO in prizes, at the Verulnm course, St. Albans, was limited to the twentyfour British players with the best scores in the 1928 open championship. The results were: Mitchell and Davies 287, Williamson and Gadd 291, Duncan 292, Cotton 294, F. Whitcombe 296.
