PLUNKET SOCIETY

MONTHLY uMKETTNfi Tlio monthly meeting of Clio Blanket Society was hold in the Waiinea County room on Wednesday. Accounts passed for payment amounted to 1279 17s Jd. Mrs W- Lock was elected a vice- president. Yearly .subscriptions are now due and collectors will soon begin calling on subscribers and any other people who will be willing to contribute towards the lunfls of the Society. It has been pleasing to find that more subscribers and donators have paid at the Blanket Rooms. \msc Mason reports as follows for the town: New cases fur the month Id; mothers and adults to rooms, 211; babies to rooms 137 ; older children <l7; visits paid to homes 162; babies over a year and under care, <J77; cases under treatment 642. The attendance at Iho Plunkel, Rooms for this month has not been so good as usual, the total number oi visits being 395. Two visits were paid to Wakapnakti, three to Stoke and two to Tahuna. Colds more or Jess severe are very prevalent amongst the older children and mothers, while a number of babies have had slight gastric influenza. Country report—Richmond: visits of mothers and adults to looms 7, babies G, visits to homes 4; one new case. Wakefield: Mothers and adults to rooms 5; babirs 5; visits to homes 2. Bovedale: Mothers and adults to rooms, 14; babies 8 ; older children 7 ; visits to homes 4; 1 new case. Murchison: Mothers and adults to rooms 2, 'babies 2, visits to homes 5; 1 new case. Richmond: Two visits were paid this month. The attendance was a little better. All babies were well. Wakefield : Attendance this month was better. Babies were all doing well. Bovedale: The attendance as usual was very. good. Babies are all fairly well; a few have colds, but nothing serious. Murchison: One visit paid. Attendance was very poor. Babies seen were very satisfactory. There was a good attendance at the town meeting and delegates came in from Richmond and Stoke to attend it. Alter a discussion it was decided to have the Plunket fancy dress ball for children and adults on the 22iul ot August.
