Centreists 60, a loss of 9. People's Party "52, a loss of 7. Bavarian People's Party 16, a loss of
Economic Party 23, a gain of 6. Fascists 13, a loss of 1.
The Socialists polled over 9,000,000 votes compared with the. Nationalists' 4,344,000; Centreists 3,612,000; People's Party 3,094,000; Communists 3,080,000. Dr. Stresenimn was actually defeated in Bavaria, but he, will be elected on the Party's national list.
The "Allgcmeine Zeitung" points out that the Socialists' triumph is considerably diminished by their failure to crush the Communists.
It. is estimated that 80 per cent, of the electorate voted in Berlin and voting was heavy elsewhere.
it is interesting to note that two million new voters have sprung up since the 1924 elections, with x no knowledge of pre-war Germany and unable to contrast Republican with Monarchical conditions.
