Stone £2 ss. costs £1 3s 6d; Constance Olive Washbourii, executrix of the will of II 0. Washbourn, deceased, v. Edmund Lewis F.llis. £5 19s 6d, cost's £1 10s 6d ; same v. Frank Costello. £l6 16s, costs £2 18s; same v. Alexander Campbell £5 ss. costs £1 10s 6d ; E. 15. Moore and P. Moore v. Vincent George Dee. £7 9s 3d, costs £1 10s 6d. Drumntond Eraser, a first offender, was fined £1 and costs 10s for being found on licensed premises after hours. UN.LIGHTED CYCLES Riding a cycle without a light was the cause of Norman Biggs being fined 5s and costs 10s. He was a first offender. On similar charges fines were inflicted as follows: Wilfred Snwman, 10s. and costs 10s: Percy Dayman, 10s and costs 10s; Leonard' Goodman, Kb and costs 10s; Colin H. Eraser. 5s and costs 10s.

For leaving a motor lorry standing id a dark place at night with no tail light Russell 00. Flower was fined ids and costs 10s. The Traffic Inspector (Mr Parkinson) explained that he had given a warning about this lorry before, but not to the driver concerned in the charge. MOTOR CYCLISTS IN TROUBLE Failure to have a silencer on his motor evele caused Leslie E.' Waghorn to be fiiied £2 and costs 12s. Charges against two motor cyclists, Norman Peters and Albert P.arton. of riding round Hie "Mail" Office corner at excessive speed were heart'd together. Mr Movnagb appeared on behalf of both defendants, and Mr Cheek on behalf of the prosecution. The City Traffic. Inspector and Constable Lines gave evidence of seeing the defendants ride round the corner abreast at a speed which they estimated to be from 25 to 30 miles an hour. Cross-examined by Mr Moynagh the inspector denied having animus against Barton. < c , The Magistrate said he was satishert the defendants were travelling at too great a speed round the corner, which was usually a busy one. He inflicted a fine of £2 with costs 10s in each case. Tbev were allowed one month to pay. A' charge of driving a motor cycle too fast was'preferred against Tni Morgan. The Traffic Inspector explained that, the defendant passed him on the Hospital Hill and although the inspector speeded up to 35 miles an hour he did not get near him. He understood the defendant -was hurrying to catch a boat. In a letter forwarded to the Court the defendant stated: "It was either get caught for speeding or else miss the boat, T caught the boat.' A fine or £4. with costs 10s was inflicted Joseph McQuillan, represented bv Mr Kemnitz, was fined 10s and costs 10s Jot rs ,li„ R a motor evele while not being Iho bolder of a drivers license. Mr Kemnitz entered a plea of gfv; on behalf of bis client and said that be was learning to ride when the offence was committed. Applicants . for driving licenses bad to pass a driving test and before they could do that they had to learn to vide somewhere. The Traffic Inspector, giving evidence. said that the defendant should not. bave been learning to ride on a main wav. and the Magistrate agreed. He inflicted a fine of 10s, with 10s costs.
