MEETING OE TOWN BOARD At the meeting of the Tahunanui Town Board there were present : Messrs F W (ireensliide (chairman). \\ . Carter. .7. 1.. 0. Day. F. Hobern. 1.. Ingham ami M. O'Sulli'van. Accounts amounting to £97 lis 2.1 were passed for payment. The District Highways Council No. 11 advised that the Main Highways Board's tour had been postponed one week. The Government Statistician asked tor a return of buildings for the year ending 31st March. 1928. The Public Work:! Department torwarded copy of amendments to the Motor l.orrv Regulations. 1927. Plans and specifications were suhmit-l.-d for draining the eastern side of Main load. The matter was deferred to the next meeting of the Board for further consideration, and the chairman is to interview the District Engineer on tho matter. The following resolutions were passed: That tTie quest ion of boring plant be deferred to next Board meeting: thai travel be put on the footpaths at the entrance of each residence where Idling has been done: that the Board subsidise the ladies' committee fund up to >JG for the erection of new stag.- at tinHall, and that Mr Hoborn represent the Board in assisting to erect stage. Mr Hobern reported on behalf of the commit 100 set up to confer with the contractor with reference to the difficulty nt. the corner of Moana street and Beach road. After going into details, the contractor suggested lowering this portion 2i'n and an efficient job could be made of it. Instructions were given to the contractor to carry this out. The loiiimi'tee's report was adopted.
