.By Telegraph.—Special to "The Mail") AUCKLAND, 12th April. Splendid acceptances have been received for the first day of the Avondale Jockey Club's Autumn fleeting which opens* on the Club's greatly improved course on Saturday, and concludes on Wednesday.

Of the '25 carded for the Alaiden Plate (seven furlongs) tile two weights. British King and Storm Fiend will he likely to dispute the. favouritism. Diamond Queen will also have friends. There are onlv eight scheduled for the Hobsonville Hurdles (two miles) for which Archibald, . Uralla. and Lady Spalpeen have the best credentials. 'The Foley Memorial (ten furlongs), the principal handicap, has attracted an acceptance of seventeen, that, good horse, Star Stranger, figuring at the head of the list of favouritism. This place should. however, he shard by Li the Shade, Town Raid;, and Valkon. Of the thirteen scheduled for the Oaklev Handicap (one mile), perhaps Micrometer, Ohinenmri, and AurieUiUs will he the most .sought after. There are still ten horses engaged m the All-Aged Stakes (six furlongs), and with such goi'd performers as Aussie, .lov King, and Paganelli in the field, the classic event will arouse great interest.
