A Pittsburgh message stales that in a deposition Stephenson, former head of the Indiana Kii Klux Elan, now serving .A life sentence for the murder of a girl at the rear or a court in a Klan trial, declared that Imperial Wizard Evans told lim ncroes had been burned at the. stake in Texas, that one had his ears ci.i off ami that another was branded with the letters "K.K.K." He also alleges that Evans authorised a black mask and robe for use in killing and whipping expeditions.
