BOXING

IT7.ENEY AND GRIME COMPARED

Unite,'! Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. Australian Press Association

NEW YORK, 11th April

An interesting explanation for Heeney's success in the American ring and Grime's failure to establish an eminent- position despite the fact that the latter was regarded as a ureal boxer in Australia, is given by Jackie Pilkington. the New York lightweight. who recently returned from Australia. He said that in Australia fighters do not. get. much experience, due to hick of boxing tests. Australian boxers were clever, but not half as rugged as Americans. They are weavers, but cannot stand up against the hard hitting of rough American fighting.
