LOOTING TROOPS
IN NORTHERN HONAN MISSIONARY PROPERTIES DESTROYED ON EXTENSIVE SCALE United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copy rif?h't Australian Press Association SHANGHAI. 10th April. Special inquiries regarding the missionary reports of the looting anti destruction of mission property on an extensive scale by troops of {lie so-called Christian General Feng Yuhsiang, in the Honan Province, reveal damage of vast proportions. Refugees and Canadian missionaries fled before the ndvancb of Feng’s troops, who committed wanton acts of destruction and vandalism, looting all missionary property in Northern Honan.
All except- one mission fell into the -hands of Feng’s troops, and were com - plotelv demolished. Even the hospitals where the wounded had previously been succoured, were destroyed and the contents looted. Most of the houses and buildings were stripped of flooring and roofs.
A letter of protest sent to Feng by former missionary friends was ignored, despite Feng’s personal direction of the troops.
