At tin: Labour Conference the "Labour Daily'' newspaper came in for a good deal of severe criticism upon a motion to appoint a committee to enquire, into its administration and management.
Eventually it was decided to convene a meeting of shareholding unidrts to devise means to assist the paper.
ATTITUDE TO COMMUNISTS

TRe, Labour Conference after a heated discussion, adopted a motion that while the polirv and methods of the Communist and Australian Labour Parties are at variance, the objective of these parties Is identical in " the matter at the socialisation of industry. The decision means that the Slate labour movement has flouted the, direction of the Federal body, which has prohibited individual members of the Labour Party advocating the policy of the Communist Party.
The conference also decided that Communists should not he. allowed to be appointed delegates to the conference without first signing the Australian Labour Party pledge. Mr J. .1. Graves was elected president of the Australian Labour Party.
