STORY P.V CONAN DOYLE LONDON, 27th January. Sir Arthur Conau Doyle, lecturing on spiritualism al Kensington, said that Major Segrave, who was leaving lor America before he made his record motor speed of 203 miles an hour, received a wireless message from the works: "Change your chains." Accordingly, he changed before the attempt was made, arid asked the sender, when he returned to London, the reason for the message. The reply was: "At a seance we were told that a chain would break at 170 miles an hour."

"Let us try it. - ' said .Major Segrave. The chain snapped at 174 miles an hour. "His life would have been sacrificed but for the message," said Sir Arthur. "Major Segrave is not a spiritualist, but he ought to be."
