Addressing tho Constitutional Club, Mr Bruce, referring to the proposed conference to bring about peace in industry, said there were extremists in the unionists' and in the employers' organisations who would react on one another at the conference and destroy its chance of success. He desired tu keep these elements on both sides out of the conference, which he wanted to bo between men. of vision understanding and sympathy, who had the confidence of their respective, sections and more particularly of tho whole community. Such a conference would wipe out mistrust and suspicion on both sides, and pave tho way to more amicable discussion between delegates of employers and employees.
