MAGISTRATE'S COURT
POLICE AND CIVIL BUSINESS Mr T. K. Maunsell, S.M., presided at llic weekly pitting of Iho Magistrate's Court this morning. There was very little business before the Court.
Judgment for plaintiff by default was given in the following civil, ucti'on.'i:'Helen 'A. Trolove "and ft.'' B.' "Moore' a«d* "P. Moore v. Eleanor E.' Lewis', executrix of the will of Benjamin Lewis, £9 12s 6d, easts £1 16s 6d; Horace Nalder and !•'.. I). Moore v. Eleanor E. Lewis, executrix of the will wf Benjamin .Lewis £59 4s Yd, costs £5 4s Gd. ' For supplying drinks after hours Frederick Robert Griffith of the Star and Garter Hotel, Richmond, was fined £3, with costs 10s>. In connection with the above offence Walter Jlill and August Roeske were each fined £1 and costs 10s for being found on licensed premises after hours without- excuses.
A youth named Alven John Flowers was fined £1 lte, with costs 10», for riding a motor-cycle in Hardy street at a speed that might have been dangerous to the public. His Worship said that had the offence not taken place on a Sunday morning ho would have imposed a heavier line.
