SURFER DROWNED
HEROIC EFFORTS AT RESCUE (By Electric Telegraph-Copyright) (Australian & N;Z. Cable Association) SYDNEY, sth Dec. Thousands of surfers,, whom an exceptionally hot day had. drawn to the Cloyelly Reach; witnessed an heroic struggle by thirty members of the local Surf Chib to save the lives of three youths who,were washed out. Two were saved and one, Thomas Woolridge, drowned. The spot is very rocky, and the rescuers were badly knocked about and bruised iu their efforts. Several were taken to hospital.
