BRITAIN TO PARTICIPATE (By Electric Telegraph—Copyright). (A.P.A. and "Snn") LONDON, 29th Nov. The council of the Olympic Association decided to send an, Official team to Amsterdam, believing that the best interests of sport would be thus upheld. There was an attendance of forty members. ' A statement was made that the Council did not intend to. shelve the question of broken time,.and that the next congress would find Britain fighting on behalf of amateur sport. The council felt that a large majority of governing bodies desired to participate at Amsterdam. The Council carried a resolution unanimously opposing the participation of "broken timers" in. any guise. The executive, committee had , no power to depart from the Prague Congress principles of, amateurism. . The Council, appealing for financial support,. declares that it unhesitatingly is pursuing a policy to> secure worldwide support of amateurism, and will endeavour, to have steps taken to ban "broken timers" in the future. The Olympiad Congress will.appoint a committee to interpret its* decisions.
