The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Ltd., have received the following cablegram from their London house under date -23rd inst * •Tallow: AVe quote present c.i.f. and e values for the following descriptions of tallow: Fine mutton, 39s per cwt; good beef, 41s; mixed, 38s 6d. Market inactive. Dairy produce (last week’s quotations in parenthesis): Butter, New Zealand 176 s to 180 s per cwt (176 s to 178 s); market steady. Cheese, 100 sto 103 s (98s to 102 s); market firm. Hemp, £1 15s 9d, £1 14s 3d, £1 12s 6d. Little more doing. SYDNEY WOOL SALES (By Electric Telegraph—Copyright) (Australian & N.Z. Cable Association) SYDNEY - , 28th November. At the wool sales there was good general competition and values were well lip to late rates for all finer sorts. Thin yarn and burry classes were irregular, blit comebacks and crossbreds were in very strong demand- Greasy Merino fleece touched 353 d. . POTATO SLUMP IN SYDNEY SYDNEl r , 28th November. Owing to heavy supplies of potatoes, a further slump occurred, new being emoted at £6 to £7 and old at £3 to £5.
