WORLD’S POPULATION CONFERENCE

GENEVA, 21st Aug.

Birth control will be an important subject at the world’s Population Conference, opening 31st August. Sir Bernard Mallet, formerly Registrar-General for England, will probajjly preside, and some of the most brilliant scientists in Europe will he attending the conference, which will give special attention to the danger to world population from feeding. Economic expansion statistics will be submitted showing that within three centuries the world’s population will exceed 8000 millions, which maximum the earth’s surface can support. Comparisons of nations' birth rales will be considered from every angle, including the rapid growth of .Japan where, despite 300.000 deaths, last year’s population showed a nett increase of half a million.
