The Oamaru North school committee last evening passed a resolution declaring the abolition of education hoards a retrograde movement not in accord with parents’ wishes nor in the interests of education, as it- involves depriving (be people of (lie lights and privileges conferred hv statute and enjoyed for half a century. The committee emphatically protested against such legislation without a mandate from the electors.
