WIRELESS IN SCHOOLS
TESTS TO BE MADE (United Press Association) WELLINGTON, This Day. The Director of Education, in a statement to-day, indicates in regard to wireless that no definite arrangements have been made with the Broadcasting Company, but reception tests are to be conducted, and if satisfactory, the company will be approached in an endeavour to arrange a set. time in .the morning when lessons may he broadcast. A number of teachers in remote places have notilie.d that- they have sets and would be willing to conduct experiments.
DUTCH BROADCAST (By Electric Telegraph—Copyright) (Australian & N.Z. Cable Association) (Received 23rd Aug. .10.10 a.in.) LONDON. 22nd Aug. The Dutch Empire Service will broadcast, Queen Wilhelmina’s birthday celebrations on 51st, which can he picked up in Australia. A feature will he tlurelaying of a carillon recital at the old royal palace at Amsterdam ,by tiic famous earillonist Vincent. The recital will continue from 7 to 9 at night, Amsterdam time, anti will include two Dutch national anthems and a number of folk songs.
