STRIKERS’ OFFENCES

The Inrijsfail branch of the Australian Railways Union decided by 52 votes to 3 to carry on and handle goods lon the South Johnstone mill. It is understood (lie decision holds good until the Australian Workers’ Union definitely asks Unit no goods lie carried. The decision is regarded as repudiation of the decision arrived at by the Imiisfail Trades and Labour Council to declare black the mill and farmers. The Australian Workers’ Union decided to impose a levy of 121 per cent, on the wages of all members to assist the strikers.
A number of strikers have been served with summonses by the police for various offences ranging from obscene language and creating disturbances to upending trucks.
