BRITISH PROTEST
AGAINST AMERICAN PRESS
LONDON. 25th July. The "Daily Telegraph" says that our Ambassador at Washington has been instructed to protest vigorously against unchecked anti-British propaganda and misrepresentation of British statements, which have characterised a. considerable seel ion of the American press since the Geneva conference opened.
STATEMENT TO BE MADE IN COMMONS '
(Received 27th July. 11.50 a.m.) LONDON, 26th July. Mr Churchill announced that the Government intended to make a statement on Wednesday or Thursday dealing with the Geneva naval discussions. RELIEF AT GENEVA (Received 27th July, 1.25 p.m.) GENEVA. 26th July. News that Mr Bridgenian and Lord Cecil are, returning to-morrow was re ceived with satisfaction in Japanese and American circles, where the greatest uneasiness prevailed over the prolonged absence of the British delegation in London.
