It is understood in circles close to' the State Department that Mr J. R. Sheffield, the American Ambassador to Mexico, will shortly be replaced bv someone more acceptable to the Government of Mexico, with a, view to improving the existing situation, and finally reaching a basis for amicable relations with the southern Republic.
