A MATTER FOR CONGRATULA-
TION
SUCCESS OF DIRECT NELSON
SHIPMENTS
Additional interest attaches to the shipment by the Horatius, as she was (he second boat to load apples direct at Port this season, the Delphic being life first. The prices'being realise,! for tlie 'H&i'atius fruit- indicate" iliat it has reached England in excellent condition—in fact-, the-prices-are better, generally, than haVe been quoted lately.' The-fact'-that-both the Delphic and the Horatius, each loading about 20,000 cases at Nelson, have landed their fruit in England in good condition, may be taken as conclusive t fiat growers need not be apprehensive because fruit-load-ed at Nelson may not leave the Dominion for : a couple of weeks after being placed oh board. 1 . The results bear out tin argument that the fruit is just as safe in cool store on sea as on land. . The success of the Delphic and Tlora tius shipments should ensure a continuation Of direct shipment of apples from Port Nelson.
