MAITAI V. RICHMOND
On Saturday afternoon five rinks from the Maitai Club paid a visit to the Richmond Club for a friendly game and had a very pleasant time. The green was in very, good order considering the lateness of the season. Afternoon lea- was provided by the Richmond ladies, Mesdmiles Norris, Lusty and Newport. Maitai rinks won by 45 points. Gibbs, Piper fs) 34. Lane, Beard more, Newport (s) 11; Satlierlcy, Russell, Smith (s) 37. Marlin, Loney, Norris, Goodman (s) 21; Biggar, Board, Forster, Tunnicli’ffo (s) 22. Rowe, Powell, Thomas, Kelly (s) 10; Aydon, Jophson, Shone, Brundell (s) 20. At the end of (ho game Mr Piper returned thanks to the Richmond Club and to (lie ladles for the pleasant afternoon, expressing a. hope io repeat Hie visit the following week if the weather held good.
Four rinks from the .Nelson Club journeyed to Wakefield on Saturday afternoon and had an enjoyable time. Owing to completing some final games and some of the Wakefield members being on holiday the city players were not able to play all rinks against Wakefield, nevertheless a good afternoon was spent and the local players and lady friends made the afternoon very pleasant. The results were:

Kingsiand (s) 25; Parker, Craighead (s) 14. ’ Stewart, Wilding, Field (s) 19; Crosswell, Fantham, Stiles (s) 22. It is the intention of several of the Nelson Club to become honorary members of the Wakefield Club. The following are the Nelson Club competition results for the season just completed: Senior : IT. R. Rudman; runner-up, A. Wilkinson.
Junior: \ r . Vitetta; runner-up, Juo, Vitetta.
Champion Pairs: A. E. Dee and W. A. Dee, (s)—fourth year in succession; runners-up, C. F. Askew and J. G. >S. Bartlett ,(s). Presidents Pairs; V. Vitetta and G. A. Darkness ft); runners-up, H. D. Bannerman and Jos. Vitetta (s). Saturday Fours: A. Ateikle, Rees, A. W. Skjellerup, H. R. Rudman (s). This rink did 'not lose a game. Wilkinson's, Wilding's, Richards’s, and Allen’s rinks.only lost one game.
Lyell Clip : Competition still to complete.. Those remaining in arc Juo. \'j|pt(a, Hansen, Dykes, Wilkinson and Jos. Vileita. It is* hoped to bring the competition to a conclusion on one <»T Hie country greens. [(. will he noticed that the Vitetta linos, have made a very good showing this season.
The greens in Examiner Street are looking°verv well. The weather has been extremely favourable since Easier, and the club'was wise in its date of dosing. The cnretaken. Air C. Quinton, has been busy seeding, etc., and the appearance of the greens is very favourable. There will he no heavy rolling for a few months. Mr Wilkinson returned last night frum a fortnight’s visit to Christchurch and speaks in glowing terms of the reception he received from bowlers in the Cathedral City.
