SALVAGE AWARD

The master' and crew of the Devon were awarded £10.250, £7850 of which goes to the owners, by the Admiralty Division for salvage services in towing the Eastern Moon to Sydney in May last year.

OVERSEAS LOYALTY
LONDON, 6th May. The lion. W. -McCormack, Prime .Minister of Queensland, responding to the to-ast of Imperial relations at the Chamber of Commerce dinner in London, said that, he saw greater evidence of loyalty overseas than in London. The Duke and Duchess of York were rendering an Imperial service in bringing the peoples of the Empire closer, proving that the monarchy was the centre around which the Empire revolved.
LAHORE RIOTS
CALCUTTA 6th May. The full toll of the Lahore casualties is fourteen killed and 103 wounded.

The total casualties iri the Lahore riots are 18 dead and 162 wounded. The departure of British inf van try battalions from neighbouring cantonments for hill stations for the summer has been indefinitely postponed.
