Dog little wide at times, sheep split, recovered and yarded in 12 minutes; style fair to good; command fair to good. 3. (Open Juvenile Stakes). Head, bring back, hold in ring. Time 15mins. First clog went out with noise, good work and in good line through first poles. Dog came back slightly, but recovered quickly; fair work, but dog little far off sheep at times through second poles. Command, fair to good; style fair; noise fair to good. Time, 3mins. 45secs:
The other two events, which are considered to bo the best trials ,(5) Open Huntaway through three sets of Flags and Slew, time 12mins, and (6) Open Huntaway through two sets of Flags, head, bring back, and head, were to have been held yesterday. The judge is "Mr G. L. Mead. ANNUAL BALL On Thursday night the trials annual ball was held in Everybody's Theatre, when, as usual, a record crowd attended. The music was supplied by .Mr Harold Williams,, assisted by the Takaka orchestra. The floor-was in perfect dancing condition, and all present spent a most enjoyable evening. During the evening the Nalder Cup .was presented by the President (Mr H. Nalder) to Mr F. Hodgkinson, and the Tapawera Gup was also won by Mr Hodgkinson with the same dog. The Hayter. Challenge Cup for Juvenile Stakes was won by Mr JTarwobd.
The duties were carried out by Messrs H. M'anson and C. P. Reilly.
