SOUTHERLY GALE

NGAIO DELAYED AT WELLINGTON

A southerly gale interfered with last night's coastal shipping and the S.s. Ngaio scheduled to leave Wellington for Nelson at 7.30 p.m. yesterday was not able to clear Port Nicholson until 4 o'clock this morning. She is expected to arrive at Port Nelson about 2.4f> p.m.

The northern mails are too late for the postmen but will be delivered nt the 0.P.0. counter between 7 and S o'clock to-night. The Aiahura was not delayed long on her trip last night. She arrived at Wellington at 7.1~> p.m. this morning approximately two hours late.
