STRATFORD, This Dav. Mr Archers’ immense majority was a tribute to the ability with which he had filled the position of Mayor and his complete answer to the people who were responsible for personal attacks against Mr Archer. The excellent Labour vote at Whangarei indicated the change in public opinion which was taking place. lie regretted All- Bloodworth’s defeat at Auckland because lie was undoubtedly the best member of the InsL council.' Mr Chapman's defeat at Wellington was equally to be regretted, but- a very large vote was significant at Wanganui. Air Rogers defeated a very strong opponent in Air Hope Gibbons and the vote was a recognition of the services Mr Rogers had rendered to the community. He was sure Air Rogers should make a capable A favor.
