AUCKLAND, This Day. Hm chess tournament is in the fifth round of .the second section.- Dunlop won one game and drew another. Davies won one, but against Erskine lost a pawn early and a hard'game followed, which has still to be finished. The leaders in the chess tournev are: Erskins, 6 wins. 1 loss; Dunlop, 6 wins, 1 loss; Davies 5 wins, no losses.
