NELSON’S MINERAL RESOURCES
(To The Editor.) Sir, —If your correspondent “Nelsonian” has swagged down from* the mountains as many ounces of rock as some of us old fogeys have carried hundredweights, if lie has 1 prospected as many square yards as wo have acres, if .he lias spent as many hours and pence in attempting to develop Nelson’s mineral resources as we have spent days and pounds, (then— hub not) otherwise —He may with some sort of grace sneer at the “pettifogging old fashipned spirit” which we evince. By. all means let the rising generation continue the search. There are plenty of possibilities, But to construe the more correction of a historical error in your article into" an attack upon the article itself, shows small powers.qf discernment on the part of your correspondent.,—l am, etc., F.G.G.
[We agree with “F.G.G.” that his correction of a detail could not bo regarded as an attack upon the article itself. For that reason the, correction was published without any editorial comment.—Eel. “The Mail.”]
