MURCHISON
BAND CONCERT
After church on Sunday evening the local hand gave a. concert in fthoa’s Hall. It was well attended and the items wore appreciated. Mr 11. I l ’. Spiers, as president of the Band, thanked tho people for their ah tendance, and also those other than tho hand, for their assistance in vocal and musical items. The band gave a very creditable performance and Mr J. B. Milligan, conductor, is to he congratulated on the high standard ho has reached and maintained. There are certainly few places •he size of Murchison that can boast ot an equally well trained band. The programme* was as follows: March, "Kindred Sports”, Band; song, "lie Wipes the Tear,” Mrs Downie; selection, “Normanhurst,” Band; pianoforte solo. Miss Lucas; cornet solo, V'Rosary,” Band; instrumental item, "Ripples,” Messrs Milligan' and Bartlett ; song, Mr Whitlock; selection, “ Parted, ” Band; Euphonium solo, “Nearer My God to Thee,” Mr Bartlett; song, Mr Brett; cornet solo, ■'Paderewski’s Minuet,” Miss Lucas; march, "Festival,” Band. God Save the King. 1
