■Sir Alfred Mond contributed to the press during the,weekend .a striking article on . Empire trade, in which he argued counterpoise to international trade combines in Europe on th? one hand and the United- States’ enormous economic resources on the other hand. It was most'imperative that .the Empire should he regarded as an economic unit. He advocated the immediate consideration of possible steps towards Empire free trade by the Imperial Tariff Commission.
