ttyjMHMS A MO' W | NELSON DFJFENCK RIFLE CLUB In collimon with other spoils clubs. "Sunny" Nelson has no! treated the Nelson' Defence. Hide Club very well as regards weather. The wen on Saturday necessitated a postponement ol the opening day, and the previous Saturday being also "wet, no practice has been obtained by members. With only two Saturday's to go before the competition at Blenheim for the Milroy Shield members will not be able to get in as much practice as they would have liked. The new range at Wnkapuaka has been inspected and passed, subject to some minor alterations, the inspecting officer, Major Rowlings, expressing the opinion that the butts are a fine piece of work. The Blenheim Bide Club has accepted tho challenge, to shoot for the Milroy Shield on Labour Day at Blenheim and to put in a "B" team in a friendly match. In accepting the challenge the Club makes the proviso that either Mark VI. or Mark VII. ammunition may be used, pointing out that their members have been using and are used to the Mark VIL Members of tho local club\ have not as yet had much practice, with the Mark VIL and will probably use only Mark VI., and the competition will therefore be all the more interesting.

THE WOOD MINIATURE RIFLE CLUB The above Club held the second com. petition for the October aggregate, the highest three out of four shoots to count. One possible was scored by Mr Runderson.
