A detachment of tlie British Legion represented Britain at the celebrations marking the twelfth anniversary of the Battle of the Marne. The ceremonies were largely of a- civilian character. M. Poincare and M. Marin. -Minister of Pensions, beaded the pilgrimage to the battlefields and cemeteries, and laid wreaths on the Gnllienes monument. M. Marin, speaking subsequently at a banquet. expressed France s gratitude to tlie Allies.
