OPPOSED BY GROCERS (Uir.tid Pi'osb Association.) AUCKLAND. This Day. The Auckland Industrial Association discussed a letter from the Master Grocers' Association urging legislation to abolish coupons and prize schemes, which encouraged the public to believe iliey were getting something for nothing ami encouraged Ihe essence of gambling; also the need for price, fixation and maintenance by manufacturers and wholesalers agreeing to have goods supplied conditionally upon minimum prices being observed. The Assn.-i.ilion agreed in send a representative in a meeting arranged b.v the Master Grocers' Association lo discuss the subject. It was resolved that a remit he forwarded to the Dominion Conference that in order to.eiieniii'age tradiijg within the Empire the iie-ome lax * regulations be amended to provide n differential scheme of taxation based on the percentage nt British and foreign goods used in trading. The Assn-rial inn discussed the proposal to make an industrial display by means of a Irnin visiting different centres in- the 'North Island.
