SERIOUS CHARGE
ALLEGED UNLAWFUL USE OK INSTRUMENT (United Press Association.) WELLINGTON. This Day. The case against Elizabeth Ann Wylie, married, aged 49, of unlawfully using an instrument on three married women with intent to procure a certain result, was coni inued before Air I’ago. S. AL. today. The Cotirl was cleared. Allan Mnngussnn. hotel keeper, aged 52. gave evidence. To counsel lie slaled that he was not giving evidence to escape possible arrest, lie understood the Police knew what he was going to say. Air Page said he thought if an undertaking had been given not to prosecute, as suggested by lounsel, il should bt> stated. The Chief Detective said an application had been made. Accused pleaded not guilty, reservod her defence, and was committed for trial, bail being allowed in £3OO and two sureties of £l5O each.
