A WOMAN’S DEATH

NO EVIDENCE OF USE OF INSTRUMENT (United Press Association.) WELLINGTON, .July 26. At the inquest on Elsie Davis, married, aged 31, who died in Wellington Hospital on Wednesday, Dr. Martin, house surgeon, said deceased was admitted on July 14 and remained in his charge until 19tli. She was doing well on that date and was transferred at her own request to a private hospital. On the 20l1i she was readmitted to Wellington Hospital suffering from general peritonitis and was operated upon, hutdied next morning. Dr. Lynch, pathologist at the hospital, said death in his opinion was due to general peritonitis. He had found no wounds which might have been caused by tho use of an instrument,- but an instrument could have been used without leaving any wounds. A verdict ill accordance with the medical testimony was returned. The Coroner stated that lie did net propose to comment on other evidence given in the case.
