ANNUAL MEETING The annual meeting of the, Pioneer Lodge No 19, Juvenile Branch, was held in the Orange Hall on Monday, May 31st. There was'a good attendance of members, honorary members, also parents and friends ,of the hoys. After the usual business had-been disposed of (which included nomination of officers), the Lodge went into harmony. Superintendent P.A. Dro. H. P. Forster occupied The chair. The first item on the programme was the presentation of medals won during the year. The first, prize, a silver me. day,'for the member gaining most new members during the year, presented by P.D.P. lire. D. Bum. of Trafalgar Lodge, was won Dv A, 11. Bro Maurice. Winter, with sevgu new members'. The second prize, silver medal, for tile members gaining second most members, presented by I’.A, I’m. T. Walker, of Maitai Lodge, was won by I.(J. Bro. 11. with live new meiiibrs. In the absence of Bro. Burn, who was indisnosed, Bro T. Yercoe, of .Maitai Lodge, made the presentation, and spoke very highly of Bro. Burn's oelivi ties as a Druid. Bro. T. Walker pre, seated the second prize, in the course •■of his remarks mentioning that In) first joined a- juvenile lodge and worked his way right through., and lie urged the boys to attend lodge regularly and to get more boys to join up. Following the presentation of medals came the offer of prizes for competition for the coining year. Bro. P. E. Burn, of Maitai Lodge, offered a silver medal lo the member gaining most members during the year; Bro. T. Walker, of Maitai Lodge, offered a prize valued at 10s 6d to the member gainingrtho second largest number of new members during the year; Bro. of Maitai Lodge, offered a prize for competition, valued at 10s 6d, to the boy whose conduct was the best and who was most helpful l in all departments of lodge work. Bro. D. R. Haase, of Maitai Lodge, oflered a prize for competition, valued at 10s 6d, to the member gaining most honorary members during the year. The -Superintendent, Bro. 11. I*. Forster, on behalf of the hoys, heartily thanked these brethren for their kindness in presenting the prizes, and hoped that they would be the means of stimulating the juvenile members to greater activity. A capital programme, consisting of songs, reading,, and club swinging, was presented and thoroughly enjoyed, after which supper was dispensed by the members ,of the. social committee of Maitai Bridge, which was much appreciated, and full justice was done to it, especially by tile boys. Votes ot thanks to the Maitai Lodge for providing supper, lo lho ladies and gentlemen who contributed items to the programme, and to nil who by their presence had helped to make the anniversary social a success, was carried by acclamation. The singing of “Auld Lang Syne” and “God Save the King” brought a very pleasant and happy evening to a close. ’

M. Alborough and M. Hurley; .Auditor. Bro. W. T TrolL pf.Maiiiii. Lodge. ‘ ’ . D-P. Br°. A. A, Steer, of Sfiedwood Jmdge, Tapawera, acted as installing officer, assisted by .A.D, Bro. F\ A Day, of Maitai Lodge. After the’cere’niony was concluded the D.P. spoke a tew words of encouragement to the juveniles, exhorting them to be true to the best traditions of the Ancient Order to be punctual in attendance, and wel-belhaveff in the lodge-room. Lro. J Manson proposed a hearty vote of thanks to f,lio D.P. for coming all the way from Tapawera to jnsla! the officers, and for his helpful remarks’ Carried by acclamation. D.P. Bro..
