PROTEST FROM TARANAKI (United Press Association.) ELT.HAM, This Day. The Taranaki Hockey Association enters a strong protest against the principle of selecting the New Zealand representative team in that the selectors made no effort to see in action nominees from small associations that a selector should himself be included in the representative team; that the merits of smaller associations as indicated by the scores registered against the Indians have not been considered; and also that the Association. be asked for a definite statement tof arrangements made with Wellington. Taranaki contends that the association acted above its powers in entering upon a special financial arrangement with any one affiliated with the association without acquainting all with such arrangement and offering similar conditions. Further, that a remittance of financial returns from the Indian-Taranaki match to headquarters be withheld pending further informa-' lion. TEAMS FOR SATURDAY Kiwi Juniors to play Waimai at Botanies at 2 p.m.: Batehelor, Louis, Toms (2), Burns, Davis, Jenner, Sowman, Harris, Haase, Goodman, Walker, Robinson, Oughton.
