LODGE MEETING

The usual fortnightly meeting of tho ladies "Welcome" Re'bekah Lodge, Independent Order of Oddfellows (N.Z.) was held in the Orange Hall on Tuesday ,the 15th hist. After the usual routine business was gone through' a number of visitors were welcomed and an enjoyable evening was then spent. A euchre tournament was first held,' the following securing the prizes: Ladies' first prize .Mrs Wimsett; gent's first prize, Mr H. Wiechern; ladies' booby prize, Miss Palmer; gents' booby prize, Mr J. Macauley. Supper then followed after which a pleasant time was spent in dancing. Musical items were also given by the following: Duet, Misses Thompson; songs, Mrs Bailey and Miss Johnson; humorous stories, Mr Gardner. The singing of Auld Lang Syne brought a successful evening to a close.
