Meat- product in the United States during 1925 decreased somewhat as compared with 1924, owing to the decrease in big production, blit domestic consumption showed only a, slight decrease owing lo the fact that considerably Jess meat was exported than in 1924, according to a review of tile year in the live stock and meat industry recently issued by the Institue of American Meat Packers. “Meat produced under Federal inspection, which constitutes about two-thirds of the United States total production, was about one thousand million pounds less than in 1924,’ the report stated. “Exports showed a, decline of about five hundred million lbs. 'lbis decrease added approximately ten days’ meat requirements to America’s domestic supply. Total production of meat and lard for the year 1925 probably will approximate 20,000,000,C001h. United States exports, notwithstanding tile decrease, will approximate 1,500,000,0001 b., worth approximately 250,000 dollars. Profits during the year have been very moderate.
