WAKEFIELD NOTES
A very pleasant social evening was spent in St. John’s Schoolroom on Friday last when Mr and Mrs Percy Baigent were the guests of the Wakefield Croquet Club. There was a large gathering ’ of members and their friends and the entertainment took the form of vocal items, competitions and games. Mr Baigent has been of great assistance to the club and has allowed them the ues of his lawns free of charge for several years.
Canon Smith on behalf of the club assured Mr and Mrs Baagent that their kindly assistance had been much appreciated.
Mr Baigent in replying said that both he and Mrs llaigent were exceedingly grateful lo the ladies for Ihe very pleasant evening'and assured them that it was a pleasure, to nc oT some assistance. After supper had been dispensed the everting was brought to a close hv the singing of Auld Lang Syne. Dr A. 1.. Caselberg who has taken over the practice of Dr W. 11. Pearlers if now settled down here. The many friends of Miss Came Thompson and Mr V. 1 Tot la mi of i?oxliili. wiil he pleased lo learn that both ••re making a very satisfactory recuve'y in liie Wakefield private hospital.
