GERMANY
EX-KAISER’S MEMOIRS PROOFS STOLEN FROM PRINTER’S (By Electric Telegraph—Copyright) (Australian & N.Z. Cable Association.) LONDON, June 10. The Daily News says prominent Germans are apprehensive, awaiting the publication of the ex-Kaiser’s memoirs, which it. is feared will result in a political crisis. It transpires there was almost an open breach between the ex-Kaiser and the Crown Prince in 1923 owiiig to non-Archists demanding that the ex-Kaiser abdicate in favour of ‘'Little Willie” in the event of overthrowing the Republicans. The exKaiser thereupon secretly intrigued in Cermany, with the assistance of Liulendorff, splitting the Monarchists. He also refused to allow the ex-^row n Prince, and Monarchists to read the memoirs prior to the publication, causing the fear that the memoirs include revelations of post-war events the exKaiser had previously promised not to publish. Monarchists burgled the printer’s and stole the rough proofs, which confirmed the supicions that the memoirs were contained in three suppressed chapters, the first entitled “1 shall reign again,” detailing the Monarchists’ activities; the second declaring ' that Hindenlnirg accepted the Presidentship with the idea of assisting the ex-Kaiser to regain the throne: the third entitled, “A son’s perfidy,” consisting of ail astounding outburst against the Crown Prince. It is believed the memoirs accuse prominent Republicans of supporting Monarchists in an effort to persuade the ex-Kaiser to withdraw. If he refuses it is believed the Government will suppress the memoirs.”
