A POPULAR MOVEMENT To improve the attractions of Talinna Beach and to provide facilities for the better enjoyment of the beach by young and old are such worthy objects that it is not surprising that the canvassers for members in the Taliuna Sands Association are meeting with almost unanimous support. The city has been divided into'four districts and the following canvassers have been' appointed to call on residents:—Messrs E. J. Scantlebury, T. Houlker, P.. Sinclair, and J. S. Scott. Membership has been decided upon lis follows: life members £f)/">/0; associate members .€l/1/0 annually; yearly members ">/- annually. Although the canvass for* members has only just commenced, quite a nineher have expressed their desire to become life members, whilst Mr 11. R. Duncan has shown Ids practical sympathy with the movement by forwarding a substantial donation. The following are acknowledged.
A further list of life members, also associate members and yearly members will follow later, in addition to the above 'Mr E,. H. Bisley Urns slated bis intention of donating £IOO in amounts of £25 each towards different impro 'i - ments on the beach. Nature has been kind to Nelson and il is not intended to unduly interfere with her handwork, but with the whoh - hearted support of the people, there is no reason why Tahuna Beach should not become during the next three years the finest beach and playground in New Zealand.
